Meals on Wheels delivers healthy meals and smiles to homebound community members and disabled veterans. Often times our faces are the only ones these people see that day. There may days your meal deliveries will also include a bag of groceries and/or birthday gift bags for our clients.
Meals are delivered daily; however, SPRITES has an assigned route in La Mesa (Route WA21). A maximum of 4 volunteers are allowed (please plan to ride in 1 car) and the route should take ~2 hours. There must be 1 adult SPRITES member.
Registered volunteers will meet at American Legion, 8118 University Ave., La Mesa at 9:40am. The MOW truck will arrive at 9:45am and provide the pre-packaged meals, route schedule and instructions on using the "Mobile Meals" app (please download this app in advance).
