**30 Mother/Daughter pairs are needed for this event. Must be 1 adult with 1 teen....please do not sign up without an adult to join you.
WHEN: August 9th, 2025 9:45am-11am
WHERE: JC Penney’s @Parkway Plaza Mall 355 Fletcher Pkwy, El Cajon, CA 92020
WHAT: We have approximately 30 kids between the ages of 8-17. Each child will get a gift card to purchase new clothes for the school year. Volunteers will be assigned a child to walk through the store assisting the child as they do their shopping. For this event, all minors must be accompanied by an adult. Ideally, we would have volunteer groups of no more than three i.e. One parent, and their child assisting a child who is shopping. Larger groups than this can be intimidating for the kids we are serving.
HOW: We have generous donors who contribute to the Back-to-School shopping fund year-round allowing us to execute this program annually. Additionally, JC Penney’s provides a discount on all items purchased at this event.
